Seasonal Marketing for Your Private Practice

May 21, 2018 0
Seasonal Marketing for Your Private Practice

Adjusting your marketing based on upcoming seasons and holidays allows you to build a responsive and personal strategy that capitalises on different trends. Campaigns based around calendar events can be an opportunity for you to exercise your creativity and cement your position as a flexible and quick-to-react practice. The following tips should help you to co-ordinate your strategies.

1. Pick the right Opportunities
Ensure that any marketing strategy that you adopt is in tune with the time-based interests and needs of your clients. You need to know who your target audience is, but also understand their motivation and purchasing decisions. Don't go overboard with your campaigns, but hone in on opportunities that are relevant to existing and prospective clients, then focus on doing a few things very well. Take some time to understand the psychology behind the festivities, and think how these apply to your business.
2. Explore Weather-based Strategies
Different climates represent a host of different healthcare complications and benefits, so identify those which are pertinent to yourself and your practice, and attempt to single some out as areas to focus campaigns around.
You could consider more generic campaigns that are based around the seasons, breaking these down into Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Summer for example brings with it the promise of better weather, hopefully anyway! This can lead to increased sun exposure, travel and changes in behaviour and dietary habits, so think about what related messages you could communicate to clients. Colder weather can represent a health hazard, especially with icy surfaces and winter sports holidays leading to an increase in falls and exercise-based conditions. You may wish to raise awareness through newsletters or social media messages, and encourage existing and potential clients to contact you with questions and concerns.

3. Explore Holiday-based Strategies
Focusing on calendar holidays or events represent a more specific opportunity to market to your clientele, giving you a smaller but more exact window to capitalise on specific days of the year. As a health or wellbeing provider, you could seek to offer gift cards or offers for events such as Valentines day, Father's Day, Mother's Day, or Christmas. Holidays may also see increased availability for appointment booking, so perhaps offer special discounts for those who book on their days off. New Year, for example, is always associated with self-improvement, so you could think how the phrase "New Year, New You" could apply to your practice and your clients
4. Explore Speciality-based Strategies
As the majority of healthcare professions have a dedicated day, week or month, you could use this as a vehicle to raise awareness about your services, or any diseases or conditions that could be related.
5. Get your Timing right
When planning your strategies, it is essential to strike the balance right between leaving enough time to prepare, but not getting ahead of yourself. Strategies based around the weather could not go to plan, so your "summer sunshine" marketing campaign could be highly ineffective if the weather is a washout (particularly likely in the UK!). Ensure that you have a contingency plan in place, and that your strategies form part of a larger, overall marketing plan for your business.
6. Include Actions and Deadlines
Once you have decided on your marketing opportunities, determine exactly what you are going to do and how you are going to achieve this. One of the most successful strategies involves including a call-to-action in your materials, such as encouraging clients to contact you via email, telephone or social media. Due to the temperate nature of your campaign, ensure you adhere to a deadline to encourage people to connect with you in a timely manner. You can always announce that you are extending any offers for additional time if uptake is not as expected.
7. Use all Available Platforms
Ensure that your campaign reaches it's widest possible audience by taking advantage of multiple platforms over an extended period of time. If you are offering a discount code or offer, ensure that you communicate this out across social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. If you have dedicated website page for the campaign, you could also recycle this into an email newsletter.

8. Reuse, Recycle
Often your campaigns can still be relevant for cyclic events, so consider repeating a successful campaign the following year. If your strategy was not successful, attempt to discern why, then make any required changes before launching it again. Ensure that you keep your content "ever-green" and avoid time-specific references so that you can use that content again in a timely manner.

What Are You Creating Next To Grow Your Business?

April 15, 2018 0
What Are You Creating Next To Grow Your Business?

Creating new things leads to growth.
Whenever I talk to business owners who want to grow their business, my question is "What are you creating to make that happen?"

Many times, they don't have an answer. Instead, they are just trying to do more of the same things. More meetings, more conversations, more sales, more customers. And if things are working well, then by all means keep doing them.
But in order to improve things in a bigger way, we have to innovate. And innovation means creating and trying new things.
Create New Things To Sell
Creating something new could mean a new product, or program, or package. Having something new to sell can open you up to customers who weren't buying your previous offer, but might be interested in something a little different.
This often happens with my clients who build online courses and training programs. They are able to sell the program to people who hadn't signed up for one-on-one services. It's a different approach, a different price point, and a different opportunity.
Having a new offer opens up conversations with people that had previously been at a dead end. It can create momentum in your business, and lead to growth in areas that didn't exist before!
Create Things To Reach More People
The best way to reach more people is to create things to help you get in front of them. This is where content comes in!

What can you create to provide value and give to people? Can you send them a blog article? Offer them a free PDF download? Invite them to an event? Engage with them through a video or audio series?
Content is a hot-button word in marketing these days because it works!
It's the best way to find and reach the people who are interested in what you do. With my clients, I recommend creating 1-4 Nurturing Content pieces each month, and one Catalyst Content piece every 12-18 weeks.
Creating content is what allows you to get in front of people on a regular basis in a positive way, rather than with the same annoying sales pitch.
Creating Systems
Another thing you can create to grow your business are systems and processes. What is your process for following up with people? What is the sequence of communications? What do you provide to build a relationship and earn their trust?
Maybe you need to create a leveraged program, sales process, or customer service system. What are the pieces of the system? Once you create it, you can use it over and over again.
So it comes down to this...
If you want to be growing, then you also have to be creating. The fastest growing businesses and individuals have time built in to create things in these categories for their business.
How about you? What are you creating next to grow your business?

7 Steps to Automate Your Online Business and Increase Sales

February 18, 2018 0
7 Steps to Automate Your Online Business and Increase Sales

Today's entrepreneurs care about being passionate about work and knowing that it has a larger meaning. As entrepreneurs, we like our work to make some impact and help to make the world a better place. At the same time, however, we like our work to be successful. Doing well by doing good. With the worst recession in decades in our rear-view-mirror, today's entrepreneurs need to be extremely creative and do things efficiently. These 7 steps to automate your online business will increase sales and simplify your operations.

Automation is the key to building a successful business with fewer resources. To create awesome companies, as a team, and to use technology, ultimately to better the world is a common goal of today's entrepreneur. But at the same time, today's entrepreneurs don't have the financial resources available to hire a team of workers. So the more that today's entrepreneur can accomplish solo, the better.
Finding the formula to entrepreneur success is not going to be an easy journey or a simple task. You need to work at it. However, if you use these 7 steps to online business automation, you can start finding the success and building the future you have always wanted.
7 Steps to Building an Automated Online Business:
Here are seven steps that you can take on your journey to becoming a self-employed, free and highly successful entrepreneur without breaking the bank.
1. Build a WordPress Website
The most popular content management system available today is WordPress. As today's entrepreneur, you will want to select the right content management system to build your website. WordPress fits the bill. It's free, its secure, its customizable so you can implement these automation tips into your website and get close to reaching your goal of building an automated online business.
Choose a professional WordPress theme that is clean, fast, and responsive. We recommend StudioPress WordPress Themes. They are powered by the Genesis Framework, which in layman's terms, means that the behind-the-scenes nuts and bolts of your website will be search engine friendly, responsive with instant updates and airtight security. Don't waste time with the wrong WordPress theme. Choose a framework that is state-of-the-art and one that will update with the click of a mouse. Many sites are hacked (or just don't use WordPress to the fullest) because they have not been updated and with StudioPress themes, the act of updating your code to the most recent technology takes just a click. Updating to the current version of WordPress and Genesis a snap. Everything is integrated, so you don't have to call your developer. Save time and money.
First Impressions Count: Your website is only as good as your design and your web hosting company.
2. Build your Email List
Email marketing is a powerful tool that can extend your reach beyond your website and create new sales opportunities. If you're not building an email list, you're making a huge mistake, so get started right off the bat with your new business and begin building an email list.

Any networking event provides excellent opportunities to collect business cards, which can then be manually added to your email list. But if your like most entrepreneurs, there is not enough time in the day to attend every Chamber of Commerce event. So, in order to build your email list, you need to automate. The easiest and most effective way to automate your email marketing efforts is with Aweber Email Marketing. I have tried them all and I always come back to Aweber.
First, you need to determine who is your target audience. This simple exercise will help. First, answer these questions:
  1. What do your ideal subscribers want?
  2. What's the main problem they have that you believe you can solve?
  3. What's your method for solving that problem?
  4. What do you love to talk about more than anything?
Once you're done, you simply combine them all. These are the people you are catering to. This is your target audience.
3. Write Compelling Content
The most effective way to grow visitors to your website or blog is to write compelling content. Yes, that's right. The time you spent in English class in high school will finally come in handy. When you're writing content, you will want to think about the audience you're trying to reach... and call them out. Write evergreen content that helps, informs and satisfies your target audience.
  • Evergreen content is timeless content that is still relevant. You could go through your archives, or you could also use a WordPress plug-in like Revive Old Posts to simplify the process. There is also a killer tool that I use called MeetEdgar that allows you to publish a post and then automatically recycle your top posts several times on a schedule.
The number of subscribers you have is directly related to...
  1. Your ability to drive highly-targeted traffic to your blog.
  2. Your ability to convert that traffic into FIERCELY LOYAL subscribers.
  3. Your ability to get your readers to promote and refer you to friends.
Now it's up to you you to take action and build your email list with compelling content.
4. Build your Social Media Profiles
When it comes to online personal or business branding, the creation of social media profiles is absolutely essential. Think of each social media profile you create as a landing page for your brand. This landing page is possibly the first encounter that someone is going to have with your brand, and you will want that first impression to be golden and make the visitor want to know more about you.

10 steps you need to follow to create a successful social media profile:
  1. Your name - Be sure to enter the name you want to be found under.
  2. Your username - Think about what people will search for you, and make sure that your username is included in the URL.
  3. Your profile pic - Use a professional photograph, but not so much that you don't illustrate some personality. Be sure to stick with the same picture as your default photo from one network to the next. This way people easily recognize you across all social networks.
  4. Your link - Make sure that your link is front and center so that people can find it quickly and click through to your website.
  5. Your bio - Take advantage of this to share only the best about yourself and your brand. And always - always - link to your website or landing page.
  6. Your interests - Look at these fields as an additional place to get some great keyword value. Find books, documentaries, and profiles of influential people in your industry and add those in these additional fields.
  7. Your background - A customized background will allow you to share additional information that may not fit in the fields of your profile.
  8. Your privacy settings - These vary from network to network, but you will want to make sure that the information you would like to be public is viewable.
  9. Your activity - Once your profile setup is complete, your on-going mission will be to maintain a healthy level of activity on your main social networks, which for most will be Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Automate this! We like Buffer. It's inexpensive and a great way to keep your social media activity at peak performance.
  10. Your promotion - your website!
If you are short on time, concentrate on the Social Media Big Three:
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn.
Don't forget to interlink your profiles to each other. If you can share multiple links on a social profile, make sure some of those are to your main social profiles.
5. Sync your Blog or Website
Add social share buttons onto your page or automatically post on social media whenever you publish a new article. Additionally, with Step 2 (above) you will have the ability to create a blog broadcast with Aweber so that each time you publish a new blog post to your WordPress website, Aweber will use your post to create dynamic newsletter and broadcast your content to everyone on your email list.
Why? Because research shows that the lead nurturing process today takes seven to eight "touches". These seven to eight touches that it takes to qualify a lead are crucial components of the lead nurturing process, allowing marketing the opportunity to educate and inform prospects as they move through each stage in the buying journey. These touch points are opportunities to prepare leads for the final stage in the buying journey, the point of decision-making.
  • Sync your social media profiles to landing pages that are specific to your visitor. Our favorite automation tool for conversion optimization is Thrive Leads Landing Pages. Build an automated sales funnel that runs a highly optimized.
  • Sync your website with an opt-in form so that your visitors can easily subscribe to your newsletter:
    • Aweber has many templates that you can use to add an opt-in form to your website.
    • ThriveLeads has many different "triggers". Trigger options can be the following:
      • Show on page load
      • Show after a certain period of time
      • Show when the user scrolls to a specific part of the content
      • Show when the user scrolls to a percentage of the way down the content
      • Show when the user is about to exit the page (exit intent) - this trigger option does not work on mobile devices.
      • Show when the form enters viewport
      • Show when the user clicks an element
      • Displays on click.
Customize which opt-in form displays, when and where with ThriveLeads. You can organize all the forms you want to display automatically on the site into different Lead Groups. Within each Lead Group, you can create and edit multiple opt-in forms at once, set them to appear in multiple places, and set up A/B tests.

We "connect" our ThriveLeads form to Aweber's API so that when a visitor completes the opt-in form, their email address is automatically added to our master email list at Aweber. And from within Aweber, we have a blog broadcast setup so that when a new blog post is published, a nifty newsletter is automatically created using their templates and sent to addresses in our list.
And finally, we use Aweber's form templates to display a static and well-designed, professional opt-in form in the sidebar of our blog. Again, when a visitor completes the form, their email address is automatically added the master email list managed with Aweber.
6. Analyze your Competitors
Get insights into your competitors' strategies in display advertising, organic and paid search, and link building. SEMRush Online Marketing Tools automate your research and optimization efforts. SEMrush will make your job a lot easier by taking the guesswork out of researching the market and your competition. It takes the guess work out of your digital marketing time and helps you to know before-hand what works, and what is a waste of time.
7. Fill your Orders
If you are selling products online, you will soon discover that filling orders is time consuming. Automate your order fulfillment with Order Fulfillment by Amazon. With FBA, you store your products in Amazon's fulfillment centers, and Amazon will pick, pack, ship, and provide customer service for them. It's a tremendous time saver for you as you grow your online store.Keep these steps in mind if you are looking to gain the freedom that most entrepreneurs want. These steps may just be your path towards a more successful online business. The better the experience and the more valuable each of these important steps are, the more ready your leads will be to make a buying decision, and the more likely they are to convert to paying customers. The result is a highly organized, efficient buying journey that runs like a well-oiled machine. And one item that cannot be automated is you! Your leads and customers will want to have interaction, of some type, with you - the company owner. Be professional and always follow telephone and social media etiquette when communicating with the public. Remember, you are building your brand. And your brand is an asset.

The Future of Digital Marketing: Five Trends to Leverage a Small Business Opportunity

January 19, 2018 0
The Future of Digital Marketing: Five Trends to Leverage a Small Business Opportunity

Jameson General Store was a historical treasure in the small North Carolina Community. Jim Jameson, the owner, had been part of the family legacy over 100 years old. The company had seen bad times, including The Great Depression. However, their hard work and customer loyalty had sustained the company's success.

Even when a neighboring community got its Walmart's Marketplace Store, their customers remained loyal. Jim did not believe in utilizing online advertising and social media platforms. He believed that these activities were only a fad. Yet, their customers gradually started shopping online because Jameson General Store was limited in its product offerings.
In fact, most of the business that Jameson Store lost was not to local competitors, but online sellers. Jim was adamant about resisting the temptation about shopping online. Yet, when he saw his own 10-year-old grandson purchase a difficult item to locate in the area online at significant costs, Jim had to ponder his current marketing strategy with the changing landscape in the nation.
Today's customers can purchase a variety of items online with minimum effort. Given this scenario, brick and mortar companies are fighting to stay alive with the fierce internet competition. According to a 2017 survey conducted by Square and Mercury Analytics looking at 1,164 U.S. business owners, the following observations were made:
  • 96% of Americans with internet access have made an online purchase in their life, 80% in the past month alone.
  • 51% of Americans prefer to shop online.
  • 67% of Millennials and 56% of Gen Xers prefer to shop online rather than in-store.
  • Millennials and Gen Xers spend nearly 50% as much time shopping online each week (six hours) than their older counterparts (four hours).
  • 51% of seniors have shopped on marketplaces, 66% at large retailer sites, 30% on web stores or independent boutiques, and 44% at category-specific online stores.
Marketing professionals understand the importance of the internet and how to effectively leverage this power. According to Socialmedia.com, 90% of marketers use social media for their businesses. Sadly, many small businesses do not recognize this fact. Many businesses had opted to bury their heads in the sand in hopes that this 'internet thing' will go away. It hadn't!

In fact, e-Commerce is growing more than 23% annually; however, 46% of American small businesses do not have a website according to Square and Mercury Analytics research. This article focuses on how small businesses can leverage digital marketing to achieve greater success and enhance their market opportunities.
Digital marketing should be a tool that every serious small business should utilize. Digital marketing goes by many names such as e-commerce marketing, online marketing, and internet marketing. Digital marketing can be defined as "the marketing of products or services using digital channels to reach consumers." The key objective is to promote brands the usage of the internet.
Digital marketing extends beyond internet marketing to include channels that do not require the use of the internet. Some digital marketing channels include websites, social media platforms, email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), blogging, podcasts, and online advertising to name a few. Beyond technology gimmicks, businesses should know their customers and their core competencies. Digital marketing is not a silver bullet. Digital marketing is a tool for the savvy business professional.
Catherine Juan, Donnie Greiling, and Catherine Buerkle, authors of Internet Marketing: Start to Finish, suggest that effective digital marketing requires plenty of careful planning. They add, "The heart of getting real traction out of your internet marketing program is to tie marketing and sales data together, with metrics. Track what you're doing, track the impact, and track the resulting sales." Looking at the landscape of technology and internet innovation, small businesses should think strategically about the following five digital marketing trends:
• Artificial Intelligence - Some people develop elaborate doom-day scenarios of machines to control the world. However, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a way of life in marketing. AI can be defined as 'the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence.' Voice Activation technology like Amazon's Echo is bringing AI into public attention. By 2020, customers will manage 85% of their purchases without interacting with a person.
• Internet Searching - Buyers are more knowledgeable than ever with access to the internet. In fact, 81% of shoppers conduct online research before making big purchases. Thus, exploring how to utilize search engine optimization and getting your business at the top of searches is an invaluable step.
• Mobile Communications - Most Americans have grown accustomed to instant gratification and easy access to technology. Mobile and tablet e-commerce will reach $293B by 2018. Smartphone and tablets are part of this wave of innovation. Mobile will account for 72% of the U.S. digital ad spend by 2019. Marketers recognize that mobile marketing is an untapped business tool.
• Social Media - Social media platforms, like Facebook, allows buyers to connect with each other virtually. 65% of business-to-business companies have acquired customers through LinkedIn ads. Marketers realize this value.
• Web Content - Good content will attract customers. In fact, customers are more likely to purchase from sellers with good, relevant videos/photos on their website. 52% of marketing professionals globally name the video as the type of content with the best ROI.

Faced with the tenants of competition, small businesses need to utilize digital marketing. Some small businesses may be hesitant to explore digital marketing due to their lack of trust and understanding of the internet. Philip Kotler and Kevin Keller, authors of Marketing Management, note "Top firms are comfortable using technology to improve the way they do business with their business-to-business customers."
This article demonstrated that today's small businesses can utilize digital marketing to enhance their market opportunities. Hopefully, gaining this knowledge will help business owners so that they will not continue to bury their heads in the sand. The internet is here to stay. Pray that you are listening to this message.

Choosing The Most Effective Email Marketing Tool

November 09, 2017 0
Choosing The Most Effective Email Marketing Tool

Email marketing is one of the most cost and time effective ways of introducing your products and services.
When executed the right way, your email campaign strategies will reap the best results for your online business.
If you're a new to this method, it pays to have the right tool to get you off to a good start.
There are many to choose from, but you want an easy and affordable tool that will bring outstanding results. Off the top of my head, I'd say that would be MailChimp.
Remember I said there are many options out there, but I didn't say they offer a free package; most if not all of them are even very dear.

Now if you're dipping your toes into email marketing, you will want to start small and at a lower cost, if there is any at all.
Another thing to consider, apart from the price, is the ease of setting up and integrating your email marketing tool with your eCommerce store.
Mailchimp comes with a free tier which allows you to have 2,000 email subscribers and send up to 12,000 emails a month. How's that for generosity?
That's precisely the reason it currently has 15 million users, and one billion emails are sent every day via this platform.
If you're wondering why this tool is a favourite among email marketers, new and seasoned alike, the answer is simple.
It is packed with powerful features that makes email marketing easy, inexpensive, and quick route to strong customer relationships.
Putting it into action
Your email marketing tool must have the ability to automate emails as this saves you a lot of time and allows you to do things that are worth your time.
It must also follow up on a customer's order or recommend a new product to them.

With MailChimp, you can stop wishing and leave it to handle all those mentioned tasks.
And that's not all, as A/B Testing is another of its built-in features that will help improve the performance of your email campaigns.
The said feature allows you to send out three variations of the same email to see which one gets a higher open rate and higher engagement rate.
You can also integrate Google Analytics with Mailchimp to find out which of your email campaign strategies are working and which ones are not.
Now, if you think that the Chimp is only good with email marketing, wait until you see it drive more sales to your online store.
Integrating its eCommerce tools with your online store, regardless of the platform that you're using, will increase your sales in no time.

I am so amazed with this tool that I had to share this course so that you can learn how to set it up and use it in the creation of your first ever campaign.
However, if you are already doing email marketing and swear by a tool which has never let you down before, then proceed to our main course on email marketing.
As for the newbies among you, prepare to get 2,000 email subscribers to engage actively with your email campaigns using Mailchimp.
See you at the lesson.
Multichannel marketing is the quickest route to reach your customers, so don't be left behind. Find tutorials on Magento, M2E Pro, Magmi and other eCommerce tools that will help you sell and earn more on Amazon, eBay and your own website at UnderstandingE.
See you there!
