How To Add Automation To Your Business Processes

April 21, 2018 0
How To Add Automation To Your Business Processes

Automating your business is not just a nice thing to do; these days, it's an absolute must. Why spend unnecessary time handling administrative duties or other repetitive tasks when your time is better spent talking to prospects and clients or just working to grow your business?

With a plethora of online tools at your disposal, adding automation to your sales, marketing and customer service process can be simple.
Automate Sales Processes
Ideally, the only people your sales team talks to are the people who are already qualified, know exactly what they want, and are ready to sign a contract. In reality? Your sales team all-too-often spends their valuable time talking to prospects who are just kicking the tires, not ready to make a commitment.

By automating some aspects of your sales process, you can help the team get closer to that ideal. One option is adding a pricing calculator to your site. This lets the prospect pick and choose the level of product or service as well as compare features and benefits. They'll be able to determine if they even have the budget to hire you, which makes the sales call geared towards the benefits of working with you rather than focusing on the cost.
A great example of a pricing calculator is on HubSpot's revamped site, or in the free 401(k) quote estimator on Summit CPA.

Automating the sales follow-up process means sales spends more time talking to and closing the leads that are actually interested.
Another way to free up your sales team is to set up a service to automate meeting scheduling. Your sales team dreads having to go back and forth with their prospects via email, trying to find a time for a meeting.
Ask your team to set up the blocks of time they have available, integrate with their calendar, and voila- prospects can pick and choose which time works best for them. This makes the process of talking to sales effortless; your prospects (and your team) will appreciate it.
Finally, automating the follow-up emails for sales means they don't have to spend all day chasing leads, but rather talking and closing the leads that are actually interested. Setting up a tool like HubSpot CRM's Sequences means you can have a phone call, put the lead into a Sequence and let them drive the next steps. You can provide reference material, case studies and other useful info in subsequent emails, and set up another call to close the deal.
Automate Marketing Processes
Marketing is by far the biggest source for time-saving automation ideas. It starts off with automatically segmenting your list in your marketing tool. You can create lists based on contact record information and see your Marketing Qualified Leads, Sales Qualified Leads, and those leads who are in your system but will never buy- all at a glance. You can also see, depending on your forms, what they're interested in, what their biggest need is, and when they're looking to solve their problem.

Based on those above lists, you can set up Workflows or drip campaigns to email leads over time and point them in the direction of sales. Someone interested in one of your services may not be interested in another service; you want to be able to send them content relevant to their interests instead of mass-emailing them all. You can use Workflows as a way for HR to manage potential new hires, and automatically change contact records based on what they click in an email.
Finally, a task that most marketers spend too much time on is social media. Simple automation like having new blog posts automatically post to Twitter or Facebook can be easily set up. Tools like Edgar allow you to set up buckets of topics and post information automatically based on a schedule you set up.
Automate Customer Service
Supporting your customers post-sales is the only way you're going to keep them around for the long-haul- and we all know it's better to keep an existing customer than to find a new one. When customers or clients have questions, answering those questions in a timely and thorough manner is paramount.

You can automate some of this process by using two methods of support: support tickets and knowledge bases. A number of project management tools also have a support ticketing method in place, whether it's just sending a simple email to a Trello board or a full-fledged system like Salesforce or Teamwork Desk. Whatever you use, make it easy for your customers to get their questions in front of you and out of your email inbox.
Having a knowledge base means common questions that come up all the time can be turned into a valuable resource for new customers. You can transform support tickets into knowledge base items as they come in, building that resource with every support request.
And finally, creating a feedback loop for client support means getting quantitative and qualitative feedback, instead of relying on gut-feeling. Maybe there's someone on your team who's amazing at retaining customers and you just didn't see it, or maybe someone is dropping the ball and you need to have a chat.
A great program for setting up a feedback loop that I use for my clients is Customer Thermometer. You can create different 'thermometers' for sales, marketing, support and for one-off times like on-boarding. Pair this with an automated workflow and you'll only need to set it up once.
What processes do you want help automating? What task do you do all the time that you'd rather not do? Send me an email and let me know.

Building An Online Business, Where Do You Start?

November 07, 2017 0
Building An Online Business, Where Do You Start?

So you have decided you want your own online business. You want the freedom to work from home (or wherever you feel) and you want to be your own boss.
Great!
But what next?
What kind of online business do you want to run?
Where do you start?
What service can you offer?
What can you sell?
Let me start by pointing out a very important fact. Just like making money in the physical world, there are an almost infinite amount of ways to make money online.
You could do anything from filling in online surveys, buying products at auction and selling them on eBay, being an affiliate and selling products for a cut of the profits or developing your own information products and selling them through your website.

The choices available to you can be very overwhelming at times and because of this a lot of people never get past this point.
Having said that unless you take action and act on your dreams you will never earn a penny.
Deciding on what kind of online business you want to run, what kind of products you wish to sell or what kind of service you will offer is something you should settle on before you take any further action.
If you don't mind building your online business over the long term, then you should be able to get results with very little startup capital.
The advantage of building slowly is if you decide that the road you chose to go down is either not very profitable or simply doesn't work at all then changing direction won't represent too much of a financial loss.
Having said that, the purpose of this article is to point out some of the possible pros and cons of each route as a result minimise any risk you take when you make your initial decision.
Probably one of the quickest ways to start an internet business is by selling information products. Information products can be anything that provides your potential customer with detailed and helpful information on any one particular subject.

Millions of people are searching the internet everyday to find more detailed information on subjects they have an interest in. Providing this information to them packaged in a detailed and easy to understand product can be a great way to make a substantial amount of money.
But, I don't have a product...
Where will I find a product to sell? I here you cry!
Don't panic, I'm going to give you a couple of ideas...
Affiliate products
Selling a ready made product that someone else has already taken the time to create can be a very easy and incredibly profitable way to make money.
This is called being an affiliate.
You are simply acting as a salesperson for the product creator. You do this by using your own website and sales material to put the product in front of a targeted list of customers.
The creator of the product then pays you a percentage of the products selling price for each sale you make. The advantage of selling this way is that
You have a quality ready made product to sell from the start.
You have not got the hassle of product creation, overheads or delivery of the product.
All your efforts can be focused on marketing and selling the product you have to offer.
Once you make the sales you just sit back and watch the cash flow.
How Do I Find Affiliate Products For My Online Business?
Probably the easiest and most well known place on the internet to find all of the affiliate products you could ever need is ClickBank.com.
Click bank gives you the facility to sign up for a free account and become an affiliate. There are literally thousands of different products in every niche you could possibly think of. You just simply choose one of these products. You then use your website and start marketing the product to a targeted audience.
Click bank is a great place for the beginner to start. It offers great tutorials on how to get started as well as a fairly in depth 'knowledge base' that covers most of the problems you may need help with. The creators of the product are often on hand to offer help too.
If you don't find the answers you need there you can always head over to the warrior forum. This is a great resource for anyone starting out. The forum is full of hundreds of experienced people willing to pass on their wealth of knowledge.
Once you become an affiliate for your chosen product you then have access to a multitude of graphics and advertising materials to help you with your product marketing.
Crowd Fire is not the only place to look either. Another site worth a look is JVZoo this is also a great place to find affiliate products. When you start to search you will find countless marketers and creators of information products crying out for affiliates to market their products for them.
Information products are incredibly popular on the Internet. As a result of this the potential profits that you can generate are huge. And if you start small, select quality products and choose your niche wisely your customer list will soon grow.
Its not just individuals that do affiliate programs either.
Many of the large, well known companies have affiliate programs you can sign up to. Companies such as eBay, HostGator, Getresponse and Amazon to name but a few.
Although you may not get as higher commission rates they will still pay you a percentage of the sales made from the visitors you send to their site.
Becoming an affiliate and making money without your own product is a great way to get your online business started. Especially when you take into account how quickly you can be up and running. Also with some product developers offering 80% or more commission on each sale it can be a very attractive proposition.

However wouldn't earning 100% of every sale be even more attractive.
Yes, of course it would!
If you seriously want your own online business, you need to consider creating your own product...
Creating your own product
Now at first the prospect of this may scare the living daylights out of you, I know it did me...
After all, What did I know about product creation?
Even if I did know, Who would want to buy a product I'd developed?
What knowledge do I have that people would want to purchase?
But when I actually stopped to think about it for a while, I realised, I had been giving information away free for years.
I was a photographer who was also into health and fitness. Friends and family would often pick my brains on both subjects. They would ask for help and advice and of course I passed on my knowledge freely.
I bet if you stop and think you will also realise that you have a wealth of knowledge inside your head on one subject or another just waiting to be turned into a saleable product.
Maybe it's a hobby that you pursue or a certain subject that you know a lot about. Maybe you do a job where you could pass on your knowledge, tricks of the trade or inside information etc.
The fact is, everything you do, all of your hobbies, your experiences, your job, talents and skills are all potential material for developing your own products.
If you get what you know down in the proper format, this alone could very well be marketed as a useful information product to someone who doesn't have your knowledge or know how.
You start by making a list of your hobbies, your talents, your job or subjects you know a lot about.

Next get on the internet, use Google AdWords or some other keyword tool to see how many people are doing searchers for what you know.
If there is a big enough interest in your particular niche then start to consider creating a product to market to your target audience.
Don't talk yourself out of it by thinking you are not an expert, or that there are far more knowledgeable people on the subject than you.
If you can provide specific information to help someone solve a problem or improve in a particular area then you are in a great position to pass on what you know and help people. In the process they will quite happily pay you for your help and advice
But, how do you create a product?
Don't panic because creating your own products can be as simple as getting your knowledge down on paper and writing your own eBook. If you don't fancy writing then maybe consider recording what you know in audio format. You can even consider breaking it down into short more manageable lessons.
If you are feeling really adventurous then how about creating a series of video lessons. This can be particularly good if your subject matter lends itself to a more visual format such as how to complete a video game etc.
Maybe even consider a combination of all three.
If you don't fancy doing all the work yourself or you would like something a little more professional looking then there are many places online you can use to outsource the work.
My first stop is always fiverr, here you will find thousands of people from all around the world offering all kinds of services for as little as $5.
All you need to do is type out what you need or record your audio. You can then pay someone to transcribe the material. You can even find people who will do the whole thing for you and turn your rough copy into a professional looking eBook, audio lessons or a video.
The point is if you have the knowledge to pass on, even if you don't have the skills to develop a product, you can always outsource that job to someone who does.
All you have to do then is use your online business to target your audience, sell your product and keep 100% of the profits for yourself.

Storytelling - How Important Is It To Your Brand?

November 01, 2017 0
Storytelling - How Important Is It To Your Brand?

In this 21st Century there are stories everywhere, moreso than before. On television. In newspapers and magazines. Online. Offline. Everywhere we look and see, there is a story. Enhanced by various tools of technological; stories, whether true or 'fake' news, now move more rapidly. Traversing communities and countries within seconds.
Within this quickly changing information environment, for businesses, companies or corporations need to find a way which enables them and their products to stand-out amidst the noise. Therefore, having the "right" story to promote their brand, helps.

As an ancient art form, storytelling narrates traditional, cultural and social norms providing communities and countries to express through various mediums. Using the vital elements of plot, characterisation and narrative point of view storytelling is used in many ways, as demonstrated through various genres: whether written, theatre, film or video, poetry or music, magazine or newspaper.
Compelling, emotional, motivational, inspiring, negative or positive, a story has the ability to move the reader or watcher from and through various psychological states.
As storytelling is not new and in business moreso and in today's business environment some organisations are mastering the ability to tell tales on digital platforms, resulting in positive outcomes on their bottom-line. Creating a connection with businesses and customers, regardless of demographics, the love of a story enables people to make a connection with the narrative.

Therefore, with this connection or 'brand storytelling' will help to transform any content marketing strategy, enabling the content's power to easily engage their audience. It is advisable to invest in telling story and according to Monte Lutz of Edelman Digital, "as companies begin to adjust to the real-time nature of content marketing, it's easy to lose track of your core brand narrative."
Social media has pushed content to being more authentic and transparent and personal and storytelling is a part of this swing since at a stories core is a great story that engages the business client or customer's emotions recreating an experience for the audience.

There are many corporate storytelling examples which prove how storytelling can be powerful when done good and well. Emotions sell. Oz Content states: Studies show positive emotions toward a brand have far greater influence on consumer loyalty than trust and other judgments based on attributes. Advertising research reveals emotional responses to an ad have far greater influence on decisions than the ad's content - by a factor of 3-to-1 for television and 2-to-1 for print ads. According to Oz, there are eleven great and powerful storytelling examples: Weight Watchers, Guinness, Apple, Google, John Deere, Nike, Lego, Airbnb, Harry's, Warby Parker and Dove.
So how does one create the best brand ever?
- Create the right story by ensuring there is value in the 'human element' content
- Making stories sincere and real;
- The importance of having a Point of View (POV) from the target groups perspective;
- Have an awareness of what connects with potential and present customers
- Defining and identifying positive protagonists, victors and heroes within the storytelling;
- Keep the storytelling simple, by being able to tell a story in one line.
Finding the human element in a story helps to connect customers to a brand, company or product, so creating a story around that shows how their lives can be better, connecting them at an emotional level.
In today's world, emotional-connecting storytelling content is king resulting in brand awareness and enabling an enhanced bottom-line.

Is Your Funnel Earning Automatically?

September 30, 2017 0
Is Your Funnel Earning Automatically?

If not, then read on...
And by the way, this is an advanced variation of the Skype slots technique taught in this month's newsletter. You might start with that one, and then graduate to this one when you're ready
If you think about what's living in the ocean, you'll realize there's everything from so-small-you-can't-see-it plankton, to whales the size of apartment buildings.

The same holds true for people on your lists and in your funnels.
There's the freebie seekers and tire kickers who will never become customers. Yes, I suppose you could say they're the plankton. And they get directly or indirectly eaten by most everything else in the sea.
Working your way up, you've got tiny fish, bigger fish, crazy big fish, dolphins, small whales and HUGE whales.
Which is to say, you've got buyers who will buy the $7 eBook, ones who purchase the $47 product, some who buy the $297 course, and even a few who will spend thousands of dollars if you let them.

But if you're not providing these big spenders with the opportunity to spend big money, then YOU are missing out. Big time.
So let's talk about trust. Someone joins your list and doesn't know you from the hairball your cat threw up last week.
But they read your stuff, like it, and buy that $7 eBook.
Wow, they're impressed and they want more. They purchase that $47 product of yours, devour it, and want more.
So they buy the $297 product and they're still happy. In their minds and hearts, you have progressed all the way from stranger-danger to THE ALL-KNOWING EXPERT, and they are looking to you for the answers.
So what do they want? Depends on your niche, of course, but let's say it's online marketing and they want to build a five figure a month funnel.
Think about that - five figures a MONTH. Very doable, but they need help.
They've purchased your comprehensive, A-Z course that tells them exactly what to do every step of the way. For this privilege, they've paid $297, or $497, or whatever you charge for your very best course - the one that is worth FAR MORE than what you charge.
Now then, you have identified them as being either a very big fish, or perhaps a whale. So what do you do?
99 out of 100 marketers at this point will try to sell them an affiliate product. Bad mistake.
Remember, in their eyes YOU are the expert. So why are you trying to sell them somebody else's course? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to them at this point. Maybe in a couple of months if they haven't purchased anything else, THEN you sell them on someone else's product. But right now YOU are what they want.

So here's what you do - immediately after the sale of your big course, you offer them your personal one-on-one help in building their 5 figure a month sales funnel.
Once a week they can jump on Skype with you for an hour and ask you ANYTHING. You will hold their hand, keep them accountable and help them to build that funnel FAST.
And for this one-on-one help, you will charge $2,000 a month. Or more or less, depending on how comfortable you are. I know major marketers who charge $3,000 to $5,000 for this exact type of coaching.
Of course, this is only going to appeal to people who are truly serious and also have the money to invest in their future. These are the same folks who can afford to outsource most everything on their funnel, as well as pay for advertising to immediately begin making real money.
If they don't take your offer right away, you make the offer again in a day, and again and again over the next couple of weeks.
But you only take 10 or so clients at one time, because hey, you are investing your time into this and you only have so much time in your day.
Things to know:
This is an offer you make in-house only. No big launches, no affiliates. It's only for the big whales on your list who know you, trust you, and are serious about getting real results fast.
Yes, $2,000 or more sounds like a lot. But for the right kind of client, it's an outstanding investment. For example, $2,000 a month to build a five figure a month income? It's a no-brainer if they have the money.
Clients who take your offer will naturally get better results and FASTER results because of your coaching, compared with those who go at their own pace with your course.
You are keeping them on track, keeping them accountable, and helping them overcome any obstacles they might face. Plus when people invest that kind of money, they get serious about what they're doing.
Because you already have a step-by-step course, everything is already laid out for them. Thus you won't have to worry about teaching a lot of detail on the calls. Instead, you're focused on helping them make serious progress fast.
If you're not comfortable starting at $2,000, then pick your own number. Get testimonials from your clients, and increase your fees accordingly.
If you took a poll of online marketers who make more than $100,000 per year, I bet you'd find that at least 4 out of 5 paid for 4-figure a month coaching when they were learning. That's why they make six figures now.
One last thing: If you have 10 clients each month paying you $2,000 a month, that means you are starting each month with $24,000 of income. And that's in addition to the rest of your marketing efforts.
Nice!
