Social Media And Online Business Changed How I Run My Physical Optical P...

The process of learning about online business and social media marketing opened my eyes to the world of possibility that currently exists for all small business owners.

Taking the tools, strategies and systems and repurposing them for my own business has enabled me to go from working 5-6 days per week to only two days. In doing so I am now generating more income and have more free time to spend with my family and to develop and explore other income generating options outside my own small business.

Getting informed about the online business world is a form of up-skilling.
Technology has changed so rapidly in recent years, small business and established professional practices have found it difficult to adapt to the change.
Adapt you must, in order to grow and thrive.

Follow and subscribe to my journey and I hope I can provide you and your business with some value along the way :).

How To Add Automation To Your Business Processes

April 21, 2018 0
How To Add Automation To Your Business Processes

Automating your business is not just a nice thing to do; these days, it's an absolute must. Why spend unnecessary time handling administrative duties or other repetitive tasks when your time is better spent talking to prospects and clients or just working to grow your business?

With a plethora of online tools at your disposal, adding automation to your sales, marketing and customer service process can be simple.
Automate Sales Processes
Ideally, the only people your sales team talks to are the people who are already qualified, know exactly what they want, and are ready to sign a contract. In reality? Your sales team all-too-often spends their valuable time talking to prospects who are just kicking the tires, not ready to make a commitment.

By automating some aspects of your sales process, you can help the team get closer to that ideal. One option is adding a pricing calculator to your site. This lets the prospect pick and choose the level of product or service as well as compare features and benefits. They'll be able to determine if they even have the budget to hire you, which makes the sales call geared towards the benefits of working with you rather than focusing on the cost.
A great example of a pricing calculator is on HubSpot's revamped site, or in the free 401(k) quote estimator on Summit CPA.

Automating the sales follow-up process means sales spends more time talking to and closing the leads that are actually interested.
Another way to free up your sales team is to set up a service to automate meeting scheduling. Your sales team dreads having to go back and forth with their prospects via email, trying to find a time for a meeting.
Ask your team to set up the blocks of time they have available, integrate with their calendar, and voila- prospects can pick and choose which time works best for them. This makes the process of talking to sales effortless; your prospects (and your team) will appreciate it.
Finally, automating the follow-up emails for sales means they don't have to spend all day chasing leads, but rather talking and closing the leads that are actually interested. Setting up a tool like HubSpot CRM's Sequences means you can have a phone call, put the lead into a Sequence and let them drive the next steps. You can provide reference material, case studies and other useful info in subsequent emails, and set up another call to close the deal.
Automate Marketing Processes
Marketing is by far the biggest source for time-saving automation ideas. It starts off with automatically segmenting your list in your marketing tool. You can create lists based on contact record information and see your Marketing Qualified Leads, Sales Qualified Leads, and those leads who are in your system but will never buy- all at a glance. You can also see, depending on your forms, what they're interested in, what their biggest need is, and when they're looking to solve their problem.

Based on those above lists, you can set up Workflows or drip campaigns to email leads over time and point them in the direction of sales. Someone interested in one of your services may not be interested in another service; you want to be able to send them content relevant to their interests instead of mass-emailing them all. You can use Workflows as a way for HR to manage potential new hires, and automatically change contact records based on what they click in an email.
Finally, a task that most marketers spend too much time on is social media. Simple automation like having new blog posts automatically post to Twitter or Facebook can be easily set up. Tools like Edgar allow you to set up buckets of topics and post information automatically based on a schedule you set up.
Automate Customer Service
Supporting your customers post-sales is the only way you're going to keep them around for the long-haul- and we all know it's better to keep an existing customer than to find a new one. When customers or clients have questions, answering those questions in a timely and thorough manner is paramount.

You can automate some of this process by using two methods of support: support tickets and knowledge bases. A number of project management tools also have a support ticketing method in place, whether it's just sending a simple email to a Trello board or a full-fledged system like Salesforce or Teamwork Desk. Whatever you use, make it easy for your customers to get their questions in front of you and out of your email inbox.
Having a knowledge base means common questions that come up all the time can be turned into a valuable resource for new customers. You can transform support tickets into knowledge base items as they come in, building that resource with every support request.
And finally, creating a feedback loop for client support means getting quantitative and qualitative feedback, instead of relying on gut-feeling. Maybe there's someone on your team who's amazing at retaining customers and you just didn't see it, or maybe someone is dropping the ball and you need to have a chat.
A great program for setting up a feedback loop that I use for my clients is Customer Thermometer. You can create different 'thermometers' for sales, marketing, support and for one-off times like on-boarding. Pair this with an automated workflow and you'll only need to set it up once.
What processes do you want help automating? What task do you do all the time that you'd rather not do? Send me an email and let me know.

Be Adequately Prepared For Affiliate Marketing

March 07, 2018 0
Be Adequately Prepared For Affiliate Marketing

We all have to start at some point in time, and the majority of us starting off all chase that magic button that will turn your PC into an instant ATM.

I know, I used to be a leading contender and grew quite fond of the idea having a few thousand dollar in the next few days. I live in South Africa and with the exchange rate we're talking a tiny fortune!
Terrible when that reality comes kicking you in the nuts and you realised you've been chasing that damn button for 18 months. Now what's "Instant" about that, nothing because you've been chasing so many promises instead of your dreams. Don't get confused between promises and dreams, it's the mother of all failures on the internet!
However, failure is also disguised as knowledge because you will learn to do something whatever you do online. And somewhere, someone is struggling with something you have already mastered. So, as an Affiliate Marketer the only way that you will stand out from an alarmingly large crowd and gain your audiences' trust, is to be able to engage any questions they may have about the product you are promoting.
This is why most marketers dread the idea of hosting and the research that comes with that!
Which is why your Blog is so important, because that is how you build a "Responsive Email List" with subscribers interested in your content. Your Blog becomes like a Social Signature where you share your knowledge and inspire your audience with useful content and tools. It's not always about the money, which will come when your content qualifies. Simple as that.
But Where Do You Start?
Glad you asked, and as you well know I love speaking WordPress with a little Google.

Because that's the right place to start once you have built your product knowledge. Effectively you start by discovering your profitable niche, so you can target the keywords you wish to target in your domain name and site title. This is very important, so hold the horses on the domain and hosting if you have not done proper research. You may very well, quite sadly be wasting money.
I know I did and as a computer and device dinosaur (Back Then), it seemed even more so. It really is all about patience and research.
Take a moment and think about the things you love doing most and make a list because that's how you empower yourself to create unique content (No Where Else Available on the Internet). That's what Unique Content means, and without that you will reach snail speed at best. And that will be your "Profitable Niche", but why?
Because if you absolutely love what you do it will be impossible to give up, when you're truly fascinated by something you'll be unstoppable! Remember that super successful people are just dreamers who refused to give up, and nothing could make them stop. You know the saying "Quitters never win, and winners never quit", it really is how this works.
Once you have your niche, you must find the appropriate product to promote to an interested audience. Yes, this means you will actually have to purchase what you're about to present to your audience and personally test it.
Surprised? You shouldn't be because if you're seriously think you will become a dot com millionaire by not spending a single dime, then you are sadly mistaken. Not only must you be prepared to pay for training, you will also pay for hosting and that's a fact that must not be dismissed.
If an interested buyer asks you a run-down of what they're looking at purchasing, you must be able to respond confidently. People are tired of desperate sales pitches with hardly any info apart from promotional material provided to thousands of affiliates. Duplicate or "Scroll Over" content as I sometimes call it. Duplicated so many times there's not much uniqueness anymore.
Test the product to the extent that you can guide your interested audience even before they purchase. People like to know what they're paying for.
This all comes down to direction and focus, without which you may take a considerably long time to achieve your goals. It's all about tiny objective steps in the right direction, there's no such thing as a giant leap.

Some thoughts on making money in a few hours?
Now that's not even logical, seriously? If it was so easy to make millions online then economies would collapse... just let that sink in for a while. You must be prepared to face failure more times than you may later recall, and your level of achievement depends on YOU. What you put in, is what you get out.
Making money online as an affiliate marketer start with direction and there is no final destination, where little to no effort will bear the equivalent in fruit.
Yes, you may have seen some marketers sharing fancy screenshots but people are growing weary of these, and with good reason. Unfortunately this marketing tactic had become a little over exposed and borders BS by now, right?
Well yes and no. Because not all of these are bogus, but rather quite sadly misunderstood. The most important to watch out for is a full money back guarantee. In my opinion, someone not willing to offer you your money back may not quite have that kind of confidence in their product and neither should you. But that's just my opinion, don't want to trample any toes here... just a thought.
Now this coin has a flipside because the products you decide to promote should carry the same surety. Professional marketers call this the "Back Door" and it offers security and peace of mind. You will then have to wait the money back guarantee out before your commissions will be released to you. And there goes the idea of making money the next day, even if by some miracle you succeed in generating sales the first week.
The fancy screenshots from the guy willing to offer you your money back is an indication of what is possible with the system or product, not necessarily what is imminent. You may end up doing even better and it's all about focus, paying proper attention without rushing in an attempt to make money faster.
In conclusion.
You need to discover your profitable niche, target your keywords and find the relevant products to satisfy an identified common need within your niche. You will spend money online, and may even end up losing some money if you want to make serious money in return. You will most definitely not become a dot com millionaire without spending a dime.
Accept that and prepare to learn instead of earn because a willingness to learn is the best mind-set to get you started, and ensure your success.
Now all this may seem a little much, but I hate to be the bearer of bad news and not present you with a tool to use. There is a training program which is is both unique and quite intensive with WordPress Blogging and Google S.E.O.
In fact, it is the best Affiliate marketing and Blogging online training I have ever tested. And yes, I am still a member because George Brown is nothing short of a genius who has worked exceptionally hard to realise his dreams. He is most certainly not going to con you out of your $47 and tarnish his online reputation.
This exact system has over 100, 000 members and generated over $5, 000, 000 in sales which is a clear indication on its own. It takes you from discovering your profitable niche, to keyword and product research on to choosing a domain and launching a professional affiliate marketing blog.
You will love this simplicity and advanced training, and yes you can refund your purchase anytime (Within 60 Days) from your date of purchase.
Please choose your domain wisely and pay attention, it's the backbone of your affiliate online business. You can access this training from the "Start Make Money" Page.

Create A Solid Online Presence to Make Money

February 23, 2018 0
Create A Solid Online Presence to Make Money

In today's modern world, it's difficult to be a successful freelance writer without a solid online presence. Sure, you may get one or two clients via in-person networking, but the vast majority of your work, as an online freelance writer, will come from the web, on places like your website, your social media platforms and even via Google search results.

So if you're just starting your freelancing journey, consider building your online presence as step #1. It will be the foundation for everything you do as a writer, and it will help you build the lucrative and successful career that you've been dreaming of. Don't know where to start?
Here are the four must-have essentials:
1. A Portfolio Site - Your portfolio site is the most important piece of the puzzle. It's where potential clients can go to learn about you and your skills and read samples of your writing. It's also what will show up in Google search results if you practice search engine optimization techniques.
2. A LinkedIn Page - LinkedIn is a great place to find new clients and new projects. Upload samples of your work, get recommendations from colleagues and past employers, and create a profile to show off to potential clients.
3. A Twitter Account - With Twitter, you can establish yourself as a true expert in your niche and as a writer. Use this platform to share news and industry insights, and promote your work (and your client's!) whenever possible. Optimize your profile with the right terms and hashtags, and you may even snag a few new projects.
4. Your Own Blog - Starting a blog can help your career in numerous ways. First, it can display a great snapshot of your skills. If you don't have many samples yet, a blog also offers potential clients a way to evaluate your talents and see what you can really do. And it can help you establish yourself as an expert in a specific niche or industry as well.
Be sure to tend to your blog and profiles regularly, update them with new skills and samples as you gain them, and use them to their fullest potential.
If you need advice on how to create a client-attracting online presence that will help you get more writing gigs and build your freelance writing career, then you should check out Maggie Linders' Freelance Profit Academy.
Maggie, a six-figure freelance writer, teaches writers exactly how to build full-fledged, successful freelance writing businesses while offering personal coaching and support as well as daily scam-free job opportunities.

The Fastest Way to Earn Your First $1,000 as a Freelance Writer - You know what feels great? Earning your first big chunk of cash as a professional freelance writer. It makes you feel like you made the right choice - like quitting your 9-to-5, branching out on your own and blazing your own path was the best thing you've ever done. But if you're just starting out, it can feel like that day is a long way away. If you're starting off with content mills and bidding sites, you may very well be working for pennies - and that can take a while to add up.
Fortunately, those aren't your only options. You can earn $1,000 as a freelance writer fast - long before your mortgage is due and the tax man comes calling.
Here's how to do it:
Find A Few Clients In Need - Scour your LinkedIn network and check out the websites of local businesses and companies. Is there any group with a less-than-stellar website? You could probably beef up their web content and make a big difference. Are any of your connections starting a new job? Find out if their company could use content help. Is someone in the market for employment? Offer to write copy for their personal portfolio site.
Request A "Per-Project" Rate - If you want to reach $1,000 fast, forget billing hourly. Instead, propose a flat, per-project rate for your clients. Factor in how much time the project will take you, as well as your experience and skills, and come up with a fee that's fair (but profitable!)
Exceed Your Deadlines - Sure, that new client might give you a month to complete their new website content, but do you really need that long? More importantly, do you want to wait that long for your payment? The quicker you get to work, the quicker you get paid!
Get Deposits And Ask For "Milestone" Payments - If you're working on a particularly large project, a great way to get your cash early is to ask for a deposit or collect milestone payments. With a deposit, you'll ask for a certain percentage of your total fee upfront. This is to reserve your time and protect you from getting stiffed. With milestone payments, you can have the client pay you for each chunk of content you turn in - maybe per webpage your write, per blog post or per eBook chapter.
Make Payment Easy - Finally, don't make payment a hassle for your clients. Get a PayPal and Venmo account, and ditch the old mailed, paper checks you're used to. Bill clients via email, and let them pay you instantly and seamlessly online. It's better for both you and them. Earning your first $1,000 can seem like an uphill battle but it doesn't have to be that way. If you want a proven, step-by-step system to earning your first $1,000 and more in a short period of time, check out Maggie Linder's Freelance Profit Academy. This program has become very popular among freelance writers and has produced hundreds of success stories.

The Top 4 Places to Find Freelance Writing Jobs
You can find freelance writing jobs virtually anywhere - through old employers and colleagues, on Craigslist and bidding sites, and even on social media. Freelance writing opportunities are all around us. But as nice as it is to wade through the numerous opportunities, it can also make the process of landing new freelance gigs pretty time-consuming. Do you really have hours to scour the web, checking in on every possible job site, social platform and blog? Definitely not - at least not if you want to be profitable! Thankfully, you don't have to. Below are a few of the best possible spots for finding gigs - gigs that can be lucrative and interesting and get you on the fast track to earnings.
1 - Morning Coffee Newsletter
This handy newsletter found at Freelancewritingjobs sends daily job alerts straight to your inbox. It features 10 to 20 handpicked freelance writing jobs from across the Internet, each with a different client, pay and focus. Some come from Craigslist (which means you don't have to scour the dozens and dozens of city-based Craigslist ads for gigs!) and some come from other job sites across the web. The main point? The work is already done for you. Just sit back, check your email, and apply for anything that sounds like a good fit.
2 - Blogging Pro
The Blogging Pro job board is a great place to find high-paying, legitimate freelance writing gigs for one big reason: Clients have to pay to post a job on it. Sure, it's only $30, but when there are alternative sites that are absolutely FREE for posting, you know a client means business if they're willing to shell out cash for their post! You'll find everything from niche, industry-specific gigs to full-time remote opportunities for single clients. It's a must-see stop on your weekly job hunt.
3 - LinkedIn
LinkedIn can provide freelance writing job opportunities in two ways: 1 - Job postings on the site 2 - Easy and seamless networking. Though networking takes a little more work, you can often spot opportunities for gigs just by checking your feed daily. Did someone change jobs or get promoted? Reach out and see if they could use your services. Is someone launching a new website? Ask if they could use help with web content. You never know when a job is right around the corner.
4 - Freelance Profit Academy
Job scams are plenteous on the web, and unsuspecting freelance writers can get caught in their devious web easily. Thankfully, the Freelance Profit Academy houses a daily, scam-free job board that weeds out scams and supplies you with the highest-quality jobs sourced from around the web. Review each and every job to provide you with only the best ones.

7 Steps to Automate Your Online Business and Increase Sales

February 18, 2018 0
7 Steps to Automate Your Online Business and Increase Sales

Today's entrepreneurs care about being passionate about work and knowing that it has a larger meaning. As entrepreneurs, we like our work to make some impact and help to make the world a better place. At the same time, however, we like our work to be successful. Doing well by doing good. With the worst recession in decades in our rear-view-mirror, today's entrepreneurs need to be extremely creative and do things efficiently. These 7 steps to automate your online business will increase sales and simplify your operations.

Automation is the key to building a successful business with fewer resources. To create awesome companies, as a team, and to use technology, ultimately to better the world is a common goal of today's entrepreneur. But at the same time, today's entrepreneurs don't have the financial resources available to hire a team of workers. So the more that today's entrepreneur can accomplish solo, the better.
Finding the formula to entrepreneur success is not going to be an easy journey or a simple task. You need to work at it. However, if you use these 7 steps to online business automation, you can start finding the success and building the future you have always wanted.
7 Steps to Building an Automated Online Business:
Here are seven steps that you can take on your journey to becoming a self-employed, free and highly successful entrepreneur without breaking the bank.
1. Build a WordPress Website
The most popular content management system available today is WordPress. As today's entrepreneur, you will want to select the right content management system to build your website. WordPress fits the bill. It's free, its secure, its customizable so you can implement these automation tips into your website and get close to reaching your goal of building an automated online business.
Choose a professional WordPress theme that is clean, fast, and responsive. We recommend StudioPress WordPress Themes. They are powered by the Genesis Framework, which in layman's terms, means that the behind-the-scenes nuts and bolts of your website will be search engine friendly, responsive with instant updates and airtight security. Don't waste time with the wrong WordPress theme. Choose a framework that is state-of-the-art and one that will update with the click of a mouse. Many sites are hacked (or just don't use WordPress to the fullest) because they have not been updated and with StudioPress themes, the act of updating your code to the most recent technology takes just a click. Updating to the current version of WordPress and Genesis a snap. Everything is integrated, so you don't have to call your developer. Save time and money.
First Impressions Count: Your website is only as good as your design and your web hosting company.
2. Build your Email List
Email marketing is a powerful tool that can extend your reach beyond your website and create new sales opportunities. If you're not building an email list, you're making a huge mistake, so get started right off the bat with your new business and begin building an email list.

Any networking event provides excellent opportunities to collect business cards, which can then be manually added to your email list. But if your like most entrepreneurs, there is not enough time in the day to attend every Chamber of Commerce event. So, in order to build your email list, you need to automate. The easiest and most effective way to automate your email marketing efforts is with Aweber Email Marketing. I have tried them all and I always come back to Aweber.
First, you need to determine who is your target audience. This simple exercise will help. First, answer these questions:
  1. What do your ideal subscribers want?
  2. What's the main problem they have that you believe you can solve?
  3. What's your method for solving that problem?
  4. What do you love to talk about more than anything?
Once you're done, you simply combine them all. These are the people you are catering to. This is your target audience.
3. Write Compelling Content
The most effective way to grow visitors to your website or blog is to write compelling content. Yes, that's right. The time you spent in English class in high school will finally come in handy. When you're writing content, you will want to think about the audience you're trying to reach... and call them out. Write evergreen content that helps, informs and satisfies your target audience.
  • Evergreen content is timeless content that is still relevant. You could go through your archives, or you could also use a WordPress plug-in like Revive Old Posts to simplify the process. There is also a killer tool that I use called MeetEdgar that allows you to publish a post and then automatically recycle your top posts several times on a schedule.
The number of subscribers you have is directly related to...
  1. Your ability to drive highly-targeted traffic to your blog.
  2. Your ability to convert that traffic into FIERCELY LOYAL subscribers.
  3. Your ability to get your readers to promote and refer you to friends.
Now it's up to you you to take action and build your email list with compelling content.
4. Build your Social Media Profiles
When it comes to online personal or business branding, the creation of social media profiles is absolutely essential. Think of each social media profile you create as a landing page for your brand. This landing page is possibly the first encounter that someone is going to have with your brand, and you will want that first impression to be golden and make the visitor want to know more about you.

10 steps you need to follow to create a successful social media profile:
  1. Your name - Be sure to enter the name you want to be found under.
  2. Your username - Think about what people will search for you, and make sure that your username is included in the URL.
  3. Your profile pic - Use a professional photograph, but not so much that you don't illustrate some personality. Be sure to stick with the same picture as your default photo from one network to the next. This way people easily recognize you across all social networks.
  4. Your link - Make sure that your link is front and center so that people can find it quickly and click through to your website.
  5. Your bio - Take advantage of this to share only the best about yourself and your brand. And always - always - link to your website or landing page.
  6. Your interests - Look at these fields as an additional place to get some great keyword value. Find books, documentaries, and profiles of influential people in your industry and add those in these additional fields.
  7. Your background - A customized background will allow you to share additional information that may not fit in the fields of your profile.
  8. Your privacy settings - These vary from network to network, but you will want to make sure that the information you would like to be public is viewable.
  9. Your activity - Once your profile setup is complete, your on-going mission will be to maintain a healthy level of activity on your main social networks, which for most will be Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Automate this! We like Buffer. It's inexpensive and a great way to keep your social media activity at peak performance.
  10. Your promotion - your website!
If you are short on time, concentrate on the Social Media Big Three:
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn.
Don't forget to interlink your profiles to each other. If you can share multiple links on a social profile, make sure some of those are to your main social profiles.
5. Sync your Blog or Website
Add social share buttons onto your page or automatically post on social media whenever you publish a new article. Additionally, with Step 2 (above) you will have the ability to create a blog broadcast with Aweber so that each time you publish a new blog post to your WordPress website, Aweber will use your post to create dynamic newsletter and broadcast your content to everyone on your email list.
Why? Because research shows that the lead nurturing process today takes seven to eight "touches". These seven to eight touches that it takes to qualify a lead are crucial components of the lead nurturing process, allowing marketing the opportunity to educate and inform prospects as they move through each stage in the buying journey. These touch points are opportunities to prepare leads for the final stage in the buying journey, the point of decision-making.
  • Sync your social media profiles to landing pages that are specific to your visitor. Our favorite automation tool for conversion optimization is Thrive Leads Landing Pages. Build an automated sales funnel that runs a highly optimized.
  • Sync your website with an opt-in form so that your visitors can easily subscribe to your newsletter:
    • Aweber has many templates that you can use to add an opt-in form to your website.
    • ThriveLeads has many different "triggers". Trigger options can be the following:
      • Show on page load
      • Show after a certain period of time
      • Show when the user scrolls to a specific part of the content
      • Show when the user scrolls to a percentage of the way down the content
      • Show when the user is about to exit the page (exit intent) - this trigger option does not work on mobile devices.
      • Show when the form enters viewport
      • Show when the user clicks an element
      • Displays on click.
Customize which opt-in form displays, when and where with ThriveLeads. You can organize all the forms you want to display automatically on the site into different Lead Groups. Within each Lead Group, you can create and edit multiple opt-in forms at once, set them to appear in multiple places, and set up A/B tests.

We "connect" our ThriveLeads form to Aweber's API so that when a visitor completes the opt-in form, their email address is automatically added to our master email list at Aweber. And from within Aweber, we have a blog broadcast setup so that when a new blog post is published, a nifty newsletter is automatically created using their templates and sent to addresses in our list.
And finally, we use Aweber's form templates to display a static and well-designed, professional opt-in form in the sidebar of our blog. Again, when a visitor completes the form, their email address is automatically added the master email list managed with Aweber.
6. Analyze your Competitors
Get insights into your competitors' strategies in display advertising, organic and paid search, and link building. SEMRush Online Marketing Tools automate your research and optimization efforts. SEMrush will make your job a lot easier by taking the guesswork out of researching the market and your competition. It takes the guess work out of your digital marketing time and helps you to know before-hand what works, and what is a waste of time.
7. Fill your Orders
If you are selling products online, you will soon discover that filling orders is time consuming. Automate your order fulfillment with Order Fulfillment by Amazon. With FBA, you store your products in Amazon's fulfillment centers, and Amazon will pick, pack, ship, and provide customer service for them. It's a tremendous time saver for you as you grow your online store.Keep these steps in mind if you are looking to gain the freedom that most entrepreneurs want. These steps may just be your path towards a more successful online business. The better the experience and the more valuable each of these important steps are, the more ready your leads will be to make a buying decision, and the more likely they are to convert to paying customers. The result is a highly organized, efficient buying journey that runs like a well-oiled machine. And one item that cannot be automated is you! Your leads and customers will want to have interaction, of some type, with you - the company owner. Be professional and always follow telephone and social media etiquette when communicating with the public. Remember, you are building your brand. And your brand is an asset.

5 Common Mistakes Online Entrepreneurs Make

Every single year, thousands of people try their hand at online marketing. The unfortunate truth is that most of them fail miserably and leave the scene with their tail between their legs. Just like the fox and the sour grapes, they tell themselves that the whole internet marketing industry is a scam, and all those who succeed at it are scammers.
In reality, most of these beginners make cardinal errors in judgment and sabotage their own chances of success. To become a successful online entrepreneur requires knowledge, perseverance, a dash of luck, patience and a truckload of "massive action taking."

There is no other way to succeed online. The illusion of a laptop lifestyle by some sun-kissed beach in the Caribbean is exactly that - an illusion. It only becomes a reality when you've put in the work and have automated systems in place that generate passive income day after day, month after month.
To reach this stage, there are 5 common mistakes that you absolutely must avoid. Failing to do so will almost always guarantee failure and leave you stuck in the muck and mire of mediocrity. Maybe that's a bit harsh, but it sure drives home the point.
1. Waiting To Feel Ready
This is the biggest mistake of all. Most beginners are stuck in a hamster wheel of learning but not doing. They get their little paws on every eBook that they find, they watch every YouTube video out there on making money, they attend every pitch fest disguised as a "Webinar", but they don't do the one thing that matters.
They don't TAKE ACTION. This is the most important step. You learn by doing. You can't learn to swim if you won't jump in the pool. Start doing, and you'll overcome your inertia and get the ball rolling. You'll start seeing results and know what else needs to be done to succeed.
2. Your Business Model Is Not Passive
Initially, you may need to do everything yourself because you're just starting out and learning the ropes. You might be bootstrapping your business and funds may be tight. This is perfectly understandable.

However, your business should be able to run without your presence when it is successful. You should be able to scale your online business by automating tasks and outsourcing where necessary.
To truly succeed online, you'll need help from others. It's impossible to do everything yourself. Hire people to handle your support, or do your graphics or create your content.
Focus on only doing the most important income generating activities. The other extraneous stuff can be handled by your virtual assistants.
3. Expecting Success Online Because You Have a Degree
It may come as a huge blow to the ego, but your paper qualifications do not hold much water in internet marketing. Many newbies fresh out of school with impressive qualifications, expect it to be a cake walk online.
When reality hits them that their degree has no bearing on their success, it can be a bitter pill to swallow. Being an online marketer is about profits, and not wages. If you're looking to be hired at a company, your university degree will matter.
When you're selling online, your customers can't give two hoots if you have a degree or a Dalmatian. They just want products that are of value, and which help them. If you can deliver these two, you'll make the money. The focus is always on the customer, and not the fancy credentials after your name.
4. Failing To Adopt a Profitable Online Business Model
When starting out online, there are many paths to follow. Some can be scaled up and become wildly profitable, while others have invisible ceilings. If you become an info-product creator, you're only limited by your imagination and skills.
However, if you become an article writer at a content mill online, your earnings will be dictated by what they pay you. You'll also only be able to take on so many jobs in one day because your time is limited.

Always choose a business model that will allow you to scale up, and where you can set your own prices.
5. Focus On Your Strengths
This is a big one too. You absolutely MUST follow your strengths. If you have a good personality and can make interesting videos that get a lot of views, that's your strength. Go with video marketing and make a killing there.
Do not try to become a writer and struggle to write and sell content because you heard that's where the money's at. Or try to jump into graphic design and spend five hours creating an eyesore.
Focus on your strengths and exploit them to their fullest. You'll shine at what you do, and make enough money online to be considered a success. You'll probably end up influencing other beginners to do what you do, when that's not their strength to begin with. The vicious cycle never ends.
All online entrepreneurs should do their best to avoid these 5 most common mistakes and they should find success online.
