Create Content That Your Customers Want To Read

June 17, 2018 0
Create Content That Your Customers Want To Read

Content is the core of your online business. Whatever you sell online, you have to publish content on your website or blog in order to attract people's attention toward your business.

You might agree that content is king, but it's more than that. Content is the heart and soul of your business. Moreover, it has a very important role to market your business to your audience.
However, you have to be aware that not all content will bring positive response from your audience. In order for you to attract your audience's attention toward your business, you have to be able to create the content that they want to read, which means the content that meets their demand. Here are 5 simple tips to create content that your customers want to read:
1. Offer Solid Advice with a Twist
If your customers are following your business updates, you have to keep them engaged with you by consistently offering good and solid advice that they can trust. But, not only that, you should add a twist on your advice as well. What does it mean? People like learning from others, but if the process of learning is unpleasant to them, they'll easily get bored. So, if you are giving a solid advice about something, and the way you give that advice bored your customers to death, then it won't effectively reach their mind. So, you will use a twist in explaining your ideas to your customers. You are going to do it in an interesting and entertaining way. Use humor and tell a story to make your advice sink in their mind.
2. Find Hot Shared Content in Your Market
Let's take a look at your niche market, and let's take a look at what your audience is doing. People are constantly sharing things on social media, and some of them become viral very quickly. If something goes viral, it means that people like it. If people like it, it means that if you can create content around that viral topic, people will be willing to read it. So, this is your strategy. You will find hot content that are being shared incessantly by your audience within your niche market. You will analyze those content and make them your basic ideas to write your own content. It's a simple way to come up with a big idea that will help you to attract more attention from your audience.
3. Make Them Love Your Product Even More
The essence of content marketing is to promote your business with your content. So, of course you should be able to make people to like your product even more with your content. Remember that once people buy your product and trust your business, they want to be kept feeling privileged with it.

If you create content that will help your customers to get in touch with your business in a better way, you will be able to keep them buying from you. For instance, if you regularly create content that offers tips and advice related to how they can use your product more effectively, then they will keep coming to your website to learn more about your product.
4. Be Unique and Original With Your Ideas
If there is one advice that you have to learn about content marketing, it is this: you should create your own uniqueness and originality with your content. Original and unique content will always be able to win your audience's heart. Moreover, unique and original content is the one that will dominate the search engine game, meaning that your content will have higher chance to get high ranking in the search engine result page. So, it's important to keep your ideas unique and original. Write your content with your own unique style, and don't try to be someone else when you are writing your content. This is an important principle that many content marketers seem to ignore.
5. Make Your Content Presentation Visually Stunning
How you present your content will affect how your customers think about your content. It's simple. If your content presentation is visually stunning, then people will feel comfortable to read it. Thus, they will want to read more and more of your content. But, if your content presentation is boring and visually not appealing, then people will not be willing to continue reading, let alone visiting your website again later. So, give your extra effort to polish your content so that it will look visually stunning, such as by formatting it in a beautiful way, adding nice graphics, putting informative videos, and so on.
Those are some simple tips that you can apply to create content that your customers want to read. If you want people to read your content and trust your business more, those tips are important for you to follow and implement in your content marketing strategy.

Facebook for Business - Let's Start With the Basics

April 17, 2018 0
Facebook for Business - Let's Start With the Basics

It's officially spring, and we talked last month about spring cleaning your business; part of which is freshening up your marketing campaigns. There's no doubt that Facebook continues to dominate digital marketing for both online and brick and mortar companies. But are you using Facebook as strategically as you could?

This month we're going to focus just on Facebook, and to kick it off, let's get an understanding of the platform itself.
First the stats:
  • 5 billion active mobile users
  • 2 billion monthly active Facebook users
  • 4 billion daily active users
  • Link and share buttons are viewed across almost 10 million websites daily
  • Average time spent on Facebook is 20 -30 minutes
I was shocked by the numbers, so checked various sites to verify them, and while different sites quote slightly different statistics, they are very close to each other.
1.4 billion users check Facebook daily
So, let's get started on using Facebook for YOUR business.
Some of this may seem quite elementary, as most businesses have at one time or another created a Facebook page. The question tends to be, how active (or consistent) are you on posting content? If you haven't read our blog on creating a content calendar, or are looking for tips to get started and make this all seem a little less daunting, send us a note, we'll be glad to get you started in the right direct.
What's the difference between your Facebook Profile and your Facebook Page?
Simply, your Profile is you. Pictures of family vacations, inside jokes with high school friends - they all belong on this page. Keep business - business, and personal - personal. You do however need a Facebook Profile to set up a Facebook Page.

Your Facebook Page is a specific web page within Facebook with the goal to create a following and share relevant content for your business. You need a Facebook Page to create Facebook Ads (we're not going to cover Ads today but will circle back to this later in the month).
Business owners can use their Page to connect with followers, share stories, build reputation, reach new customers, get feedback, provide customer service, and give their business a voice. Since you need a page to start using Facebook ads, let's focus on how to create a Facebook page that represents your brand, helps establish your credibility, and gets found on Google.
Some of the same advice we give business owners when they're building their new website also apply to Facebook. Look at the competition, big and small brands, what are they doing well, what could they do better, what elements can you build into your own page. With Facebook, you also want to look at which posts get likes and the engagement level.
When starting your page (or revisiting it and refining it further) keep in mind that complete pages have a better search ranking. You may find that some of the tabs don't apply to you, and those can be removed. You also have the flexibility to rearrange the tabs in a way that makes more sense to your business. Build your page with text, videos, photos, and sharing (or curating) content from others. One handy trick, back date some of your posts so they all don't "appear" all on the same day.

Our last tip for this week (and we'll talk more about this when we start diving deeper into keywords) is maximizing the impact of your Facebook Page short description. The first 156 characters of your short description appears in Google search results as your meta description, this is your opportunity to include 2-3 highly searched keywords (with your domain name). Curious how this looks, try searching one of your competitors to see what they're doing (just add "Facebook" in your search to filter the results).
We have a lot to cover this month, so stay tuned!

Taking Advantage Of Gen Z's Insatiable Hunger For Online Content

March 05, 2018 0
Taking Advantage Of Gen Z's Insatiable Hunger For Online Content

How often do you update your social media pages and publish new website content that is useful to your followers?
If you wait to get in the mood before working on them, you could be missing out on the opportunity to increase engagement and conversion.

A new study that was conducted by software company Adobe revealed that online consumers are drawn to brands that create authentic and relevant content. This is especially true for Generation Z who spend nearly half of their waking hours online.
The company surveyed 1,000 consumers to study their content consumption habits and found that Gen Z read, watch and share content online for 10.6 hours, while their millennial counterparts spend 8.5 hours doing practically the same thing.
Moreover, mobile turned out to be their favourite tool for consuming information online, spending an average of 5.9 hours every day.
But because of the proliferation of fake news, only a small percentage of young people share content. 58% of the respondents say they would share something posted by a family member or friend, 29% would share content from a YouTube star, and 19% say they would if information comes from a publishing source.
Potential gains from satisfying Gen Z's appetite

Who doesn't appreciate a piece of well-written content or an absorbing subject matter on a YouTube video?
Online content is basically the digital equivalent of sales associates in bricks-and-mortar shops. eCommerce businesses should carefully craft what they roll out on their website and social media pages, making sure that it gives potential customers a wonderful experience.
Such material prompts online consumers to take a positive action; 46% of UK consumers say it would trigger them to make a purchase, 24% say they would share it, while 21% say they would subscribe to the email list of the brand behind it.
However, if there is good content there is also a crappy one that bears the following qualities which, for many customers, are big turn-offs:
  • Content that is badly written (49%)
  • Irrelevant (44%)
  • Poorly designed (35%)
Paying attention to the devices people use in consuming content is just as important as the information and the manner in which it is presented on the Web.

79% of Adobe's respondents say they would like to use a home entertainment streaming device to consume online content, 63% of them prefer a voice assistant, while 51% aspire for connected home devices.
Technology is really advancing at the speed of light, and hence online businesses have no choice but to keep up. However, don't lose sight of the fact that it's pointless to be available on the latest device if your content is immaterial.
John Watton, senior marketing director at Adobe EMEA, explains it better below:
"Whether it's across social, online, blogs, or email communications, branded content has to be well-designed, optimised for the device, and offer a genuine experience that goes beyond selling products. Brands that succeed will drive customer acquisition and loyalty; those that don't will see customers swipe their screen in search for content that offers them a better experience."
So how are you satisfying the insatiable appetite of Gen Z?
Multichannel marketing is the quickest route to reach your customers, so don't be left behind. Find tutorials on Magento, M2E Pro, Magmi and other eCommerce tools that will help you sell and earn more on Amazon, eBay and your own website at UnderstandingE.
See you there!

What Is A Niche Market? 7 Things To Consider

February 05, 2018 0
What Is A Niche Market? 7 Things To Consider

Someone asked me a couple of days ago "what is a niche market?" and I thought to share that info here today. The answer is that it's a small segment of the marketplace where the features of a product are specifically aimed at serving a certain group of individuals within the market nook or niche. This would also include a competitive price range and competitive quality also.

It is a small specific part of the marketplace that is focused on, and is highly specialized to meet the needs of customers and to stand above the competition within that niche. An example would be the auto industry, with the niche being brake repair, or tune ups, tires, etc.
Companies create niche products for their customers, no matter how large the company is, as the nature of a growing business is to fill the needs of their customers and stay competitive and thrive within their industry.
The online dictionary definition of a niche is:
1. An ornamental recess in a wall or the like, usually semi circular in plan and arched, as for a statue or other decorative object.
2. A place or situation suitable for a person or thing: to find one's niche in the business world.
3. A distinct segment of a market.
Build a Niche Website
Your online business should not feel like a job but be fun and exciting to you, stimulating and motivating like a hobby. Is there something specific that you're really interested in and enjoy working with, can talk and write about?
Most likely you will be writing a lot of article content on the subject as you build a niche website. So the more that you enjoy working within your niche the more energetic and productive you'll be and this will really show as time goes on.
Another thing is that continued learning within your chosen nook will make you an authority in your niche and make for more great writing content to share with your viewers.

So what niche market or nook interests you the most or gets you excited enough that you want to share it with the world?
Here's 7 important things to consider while choosing a niche for your website, or any business venture.
1. You will be thinking, talking and writing a lot about the chosen subject, to feed the minds of your viewers with the answers or solutions to their inquiries. In order to prosper and grow your business there really needs to be a drive to share the subject and information with those like-minded visitors.
2. You will be constantly communicating with many Real people, answering their questions and explaining things to them concerning the subject and content on your website. As you write your articles and comment responses you'll want to make sure that proper grammar is used throughout your site content. Misspelled words and broken sentences do not read well and will send your visitors to another site where they don't have to be distracted with poor grammar.
3. You will be choosing products to promote within your chosen nook because niche products sell online and your viewers will need to be informed about each one of them and how they can help your viewer. If the products that you choose to promote are not relevant to what your viewers are interested in they simply won't purchase the product.
If you however, with your product info and how it can benefit the viewer, explain to them how it can help their situation or make things easier for them, you will prosper along with the viewer via increased sales.
4. You will be helping many others within your nook with their questions and concerns. So then, you being an expert in your niche need to be enthusiastic and enjoy each opportunity to enlighten others on which way to go, etc. You can even show them how to solve their online difficulties using screen shots and tutorials within the niche.
5. You will most likely branch out to another niche(s) in the future and perfection is not a requirement. However in order to draw viewers to the site to see what you have to offer, your online store or service will prosper and rank with the search engines much better when quality is applied in every aspect of your business.
6. Any niche website that you create can become a full-time income earner for you. This is so awesome, you only need one website properly started from your thoughts and created according to step by step instructions to become your 24/7 online business that even operates while you're sleeping or on vacation.
7. If you're not now, you will become an expert and an authority in your field. To the extent that you can share your niche information with others and obtain more knowledge to pass on in order to help them grow, you and the site will also grow and attract more searchers.

Remember each and every time that you sit down to write a post that your audience is not Google, Bing, Yahoo or some search engine, but Real People, just like you and your brothers and sisters, mom and dad too. Yup, and they can find their answers on another site but they want to see if you can help them first. So welcome them and give them your best each day and watch your business grow accordingly in your niche market.
I hope that pretty much answers the question "what is a niche market" and shows you 7 things to consider as you move forward with your plans of building a website and entering into the online market. It truly is a different experience as compared to getting up early and facing the traffic, people, boss, etc., week after week. It's a great idea to start creating an online presence and build it up step by step until you can start working from home or anywhere, with your laptop. I invite you to come and learn how to create an online career @ https://newcareerat40.com

Writing Website Content - Who Are You Writing To?

January 30, 2018 0
Writing Website Content - Who Are You Writing To?

Decisions, Decisions
How to write content for a website niche. Can you remember how it used to be so simple to choose from among a few possible selections of almost everything?

I guess that you'd have to be about 50 years old or so but for many years now progress has brought us to the point where we are at today. Example: Soup: Even if you were to narrow down your search to chicken noodle, after seeing all of the various soups to choose from, you would then have to make the choice from the many various brands of chicken noodle. Maybe you aren't old enough and I don't want to go back in time but there was a lot less of everything to choose from, making the selection process a bit easier.
What Excites You?
The thing with niches is that there are millions of them and you have to choose just one! It would be easy to make a broad selection choice like baseball, or health, hardware, clothing, etc. That is part of the selection process but it goes much deeper than that, for example... you wouldn't choose the Automobile industry because that in itself isn't a niche but you could target a group within the auto industry and choose "Brake Repair" as your niche or "Windshields."
Successful People Make Decisions
People sometimes make it more difficult than it should be because there isn't only one right niche for you but many that you could really enjoy and prosper from. However, for others, there's no problem deciding as they know exactly what they want.
Well, you shouldn't be taking too long to make a selection on which area to specialize in but do take some time and research a bit and make a choice and then move onto the next step. Knowing how to write content for a website niche is important and you can always make a change if you decide to before so much time and energy is invested. You can start another site and build them both up into revenue producing website businesses.
Just What is a Niche?
According to Definition.com:
Noun
  • An ornamental recess in a wall or the like, usually semicircular in plan and arched, as for a statue or other decorative object.
  • A place or position suitable or appropriate for a person or thing: "to find one's niche in the business world."
  • A distinct segment of a market
So a niche is a "distinct segment of a market" or an audience or a specific group.

Be sure to choose a niche that fits you well, something that is an interest of yours, a hobby or a passion. It can also be something that you would like to learn about and share with a portion of the 3.75 billion internet users globally. Almost anything that you can think of is a niche and you can earn money online from about every one of them because there are so many viewers and searchers online. You can Become an expert in any niche that you choose and earn a monthly revenue by helping others that have the same interests.
The more that you enjoy doing something, the more you will naturally produce with pleasure, as your online business should be fun and not like a day job. Your chosen niche should be something that you really like and enjoy, something that you can talk about and be or become an authority on. Knowing how to write content for a website will be beneficial as you move forward.
Even the smallest niches have millions of viewers and can be highly profitable. I know one affiliate marketer that chose to make a "mini-niche" site promoting Football Snack Helmets and he's earning about $700 per month with that site alone. I know another that travels the world taking pictures and enjoying what seems like a permanent vacation on Instagram, after only 6 months, and earning $1600 per month.
How to write content for a blog... Who are you writing to?
There are a number of things that you need to take into consideration when choosing your website topic:
  • Any single niche website can become a full-time income-earning online business when the right steps are taken.
  • Most likely your first website won't be your last so don't try to make it perfect, just make it great and then pause and consider your options.
  • You will be choosing products to promote in your niche.
  • You are going to be communicating within your niche.
  • You are going to be helping others in your niche, as an authority.
  • You are going to be writing lots of content within the chosen niche.
So you really can't choose a wrong niche although some might be a bit more challenging than others. I'd say take a few minutes, or hours and make a decision and then move onto the next step.
A key and probably most important point is to be very specific when choosing a niche and don't be too broad. An example: If you are selling custom shoelaces or socks, that should be your niche. If you chose "custom footwear" as your site niche you would have a lot of disappointed searchers quickly leaving your site because they're not looking for laces or socks.
If you're too broad in your choice the audience will be hard to convert to your product or to keep their attention. However, if they see your site is all about custom laces and socks and then go to your site they will see exactly what they're expecting to see.
At that point, they'll be more favorable and stay on your site and perhaps even make a purchase and come back at a later date, maybe even recommend your site to a friend.
With over 3.5 billion people globally online you will really benefit from becoming an expert on your specific topic or product. When you sit down to write content for your site or answer questions from the comment area it's good practice to see or think of a group of like-minded real people listening and reading your article with the intention of learning something or being enlightened in some way. See yourself communicating with your audience and see them listening and learning from what they are hearing or reading.
Another example: Sports - TOO Broad.
How can you target someone in Sports without going deeper into a niche within the sporting world? Even then, if you choose Football, you should be more specific. What within the world of Football will you be promoting? Perhaps player jerseys, hats, autographed balls, etc. That would put you into the Souvenir niche.
Another example: Health - Too Broad.
Once again you need to go much deeper than just Health itself, as that could be just about anything and is far too broad. It's really impossible to effectively target people in the Health niche because the need is to find a niche within the health industry. Let's say health through dieting, organic dieting, curing cancer with organic dieting, etc. Every visitor that goes to your site within the Healthy Diet niche will get exactly what they're looking for and be satisfied. If they just entered Health into the search engine they would just get thousands of results from many different categories.
One more time example: Automobiles - Too Broad.
Same as the previous two, Automobiles wouldn't be a good niche if you were promoting accessories or services like tune-ups or brake repair or any of the other possible niches like tires, wipers, windshields, oil, and fluids, etc.
So it's important for you to be very specific when naming your chosen niche. Don't call yourself "Randy's Auto Repair" if you only do brake repair and could more specifically be called "Randy's Brake Repair." That way 100% of your viewers will know exactly what to expect when they go to your site.
Know Your Targeted Group
Remember that a niche is a way to target a specific group of individuals that all have the same mind or interest. A group of people, Hikers over 50 would be a well-targeted group.
A group of individuals that get Migraine Headaches would be a well-targeted group or niche.
And how about the people that are looking for some Low Fat Diets, another well-targeted group. So you need to be specific, there are millions of people even in the smallest niches. Know your targeted group, as much as you can about them so that you can serve them well and supply them with your product or service and they as well as yourself will benefit.

All you need to do is target your specific group of people and there's your niche. Help the millions of people within that group get the answers and perhaps product that they're searching for and grow your site and attract viewers day after day 24/7 all year long!
Millions of people are looking for help and information online every hour of every day. They are also spending billions of dollars online each year and you can set yourself up so that you can capitalize on each situation with your website.
Shouldn't I Be Concerned With My Competition?
No, absolutely not!
There are millions of sites and billions of people surfing the internet. There is a way that you can tap into the 10,000's of low competition keywords to reach these people. As mentioned earlier there are millions buying things in the smallest of categories.
So with all of this in mind, go ahead and pick your website niche, dig in and get as specific as possible so that the viewers coming to your site and reading your quality articles are in the right place and enjoy their time with you. Realize that there are millions of people in every niche that you can imagine and that's what's so great about the internet. It's not going anywhere and the opportunities for you to take advantage of keep growing each and every year.
I hope that this helps you in some way to understand and move forward with choosing your site niche and writing to your targeted group of individuals offering information, insight and empowering advice to your reader. This will lead to a continuous rise in your site traffic and conversions or sales to your credit.
