Master List Building: How You Can Create a Bigger Email List Right With Minimum Effort

Build a Profitable Email List
You finally realize that you need a good opt-in list. After reading countless articles and sought expert advice and have read many success stories of people creating a small fortune with opt-in lists you finally decide to have one of your own.
In fact, you may be losing money. Maybe you're hiring writers to help you out, or there are some expenses incurred, even if you have a big list, but only a very small percentage actually buys from you, you're still losing profit. You'll realize that after a few months when you see your statistics and sales figures.

So what could have gone wrong? Why have others succeeded where you have failed? The most common mistake is that you dived straight right in. You chose a topic where you think could be quite popular and would earn you money. This just not the case. Just because you wrote people from the list doesn't mean they are going to buy instantly.
Here I will offer more advice, for those who have started an opt-in list and have failed, you can rejuvenate your failed venture. For those who are starting, here are three quick and easy ways to build a profitable opt-in list.

1) Get your customers to trust you and your products first. Just launching your opt-in list would not make you an expert and a believable seller. Put many articles first before you start an opt-in list. Write about the topic you know and have started and used for your site. Try to put forums first to gain knowledge about your customers about their wants and needs and target those wants and needs.

Join forums from other sites as well. Provide expert advice and recommendations. When you feel that people trust you already, you will be able to start your own opt-in list. You can build a base as well with other forum users. You can ask them to join your list. Friends are always good customers. Put up a link to your site so that they may be able to see what your business is all about.
The certain truth is, the money will only come in when the consumers and subscribers believe and trust in you. They want a product or service that could be a good exchange for their money. People are not going to buy something out of your recommendation if they don't know you.

2) Find a product or service that people want and need. Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a service and product that you have researched and learned about well, you can carry it on forward. Invest your time, effort and money that you could sell as well as the buyers or subscribers of your opt-in list can use.

While it is true that it is best to sell something that you have an interest in, there are not many people who have the same interest as you if you decide to sell something that is not entirely popular or profitable. Do your research well and you would see the profits come in. Also, provide your subscribers with promotional material that they could actually use and spread around.
3) Make friends with other opt-in list users. This is basically beneficial especially if it is someone who has already launched a successful opt-in list. These are people who have the experience in this venture and experience is still the best teacher. While there are many articles available for you on the internet to use, there is nothing like getting a firsthand account from someone you trust.

Experienced opt-in list users will be able to tell you what to do and what not to do because they have gone through it. While different situations occur for different people, the general concept can still be very helpful. There are many things to avoid and these people will be able to tell you which ones.
Building a profitable opt-in list don't just happen overnight. There are many preparations and effort to do. Opt-in lists are built from scratch, as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or hire help if need be, just make sure that your subscribers are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy from you.

Important List Building Techniques
Online marketing may have developed a sudden surge these past few years, but many in the know how have felt its rise even from way then. As more internet based businesses are put up, the need to develop new marketing skills and knowledge based on this new medium have arisen. More and more marketing strategies are being discovered and developed to cope with the changing face of business the business world.
The demand for online marketing tips and strategies have drastically grown and a new form of business has been born, internet marketing strategies. While there are companies that are all too eager to help your site and business build a clientele for a fee, there also many ways that can spread the word about your site's subsistence in a more cost freeway. One of these is Opt-in email marketing, also known as permission marketing.

Opt-in marketing requires the permission of a willing customer to subscribe to your marketing materials, materials that take form in newsletters, catalogs, and promotional mailings via e-mail. The more opt-in marketing mail is sent, the more chances there is to bag sales and more sales.
To do this, you must build a list of all those who wants to subscribe to your opt-in marketing list. From your list, you will get your targeted customer, this is a good list since they already have shown interest in what you have to show and sell since they have willingly signed in for your list.
These are the people who have liked what they have seen on your site and have decided they want to see more and maybe even purchase whatever product or service your company and site has to offer.
Many people would think that building their lists would take hard work and a lot of time to build and collect names and addresses. This is not so, it takes a bit of patience and some strategies but in doing this list, you open your site and your business to a whole new world of target market.

There are many sources and articles on the internet available for everyone to read and follow in building a list. Sometimes they may be confusing because there are so many and there different ways. Different groups of people would have different approaches in building an opt-in list, but no matter how diverse many methods are, there are always some crucial things to do to build your list. Here are four of them.
1) Put up a good web form in your site that immediately follows the end of your content. While some may say this is too soon to subscribe for a website visitors application, try to remember that your homepage should provide a quick good impression.
2) As mentioned in the first tip, make your homepage very, very impressive. You need to have well-written articles and descriptions of your site. Depending on what your site is all about, you need to capture your website visitor's fancy.
Don't waste your time making the homepage too overly large megabyte wise. Not all people have dedicated T1 connections, the faster your site gets loaded, the better. Go for a look that borders between simplicity and sophisticated knowledge.
3) Provide good service and products. A return customer is more likely to bring in more business. Even then and now, a satisfied customer will recommend a business always. Word of mouth and recommendations alone can rake in more business than an expensive ad.

4) Keep a clean and private list. Never lose the trust your customers have entrusted you. If you provide e-mails to others and they get spammed, many will probably unsubscribe to you. Remember, a good reputation will drive in more traffic and subscribers as well as strengthen the loyalty of your customers.

Why You Need To Build An Email List NOW

Well said!

Your list gives you direct communication with your audience.

With a healthy and growing email list, you are in control!  You determine when you send your Value and when you send your Promotion emails.

But be very aware that you must take the time to first form a relationship of Value and Trust before you go trying to sell, sell sell!

Look at how much value are you providing to your list and then look at your conversion rates.

How responsive are they?

Love Your List & Your List Will Love You

Love Your List & Your List Will Love You

You may have heard the saying often thrown about in internet Marketing circles: The Money is In the list. I'm not going to argue with this, it is as true today as it has ever been.
In fact, I would go as far as to say the single most important thing to do for anyone new to the world of internet marketing is to start building an email list as soon as possible.

Indeed the great majority of any internet marketers time is taken up by growing their list. But unless you spend some time looking after the existing customers in your list then everything you've invested will have been wasted.
If I could give only one piece of advice to anyone starting out in Internet marketing it would be "Love Your List."
Unfortunately the majority of people venturing into internet marketing make one major error. They are so focused on squeezing as much profit out of their list as they possibly can that they forget they are dealing with real people.

This approach may work well in the short term and could even give you a good initial income. However, eventually you will lose the confidence and trust of the people on your list and they will stop responding.
This way you are going to have to put time and money into replacing the customers you are consistently losing.
Believe me you will have better things to do with your time than constantly replacing people dropping out of your list due to neglect.

These are real people!
You need to understand that behind every email address you collect there is a real person.
Someone who has shown an interest in what you have to offer. They have trusted you enough to give you their name and email address.

A conscious decision was made to take the time and respond to you. They may even have downloaded one of your products or possibly made a purchase from you.
So you must remember these are real people with real dreams and real feelings. You will find that if you treat them as such, if you show your human side, you will be in this business for the long term rather than be just a quick flash in the pan.
When you get a new subscriber don't go all out sell, sell, sell. Because if you are constantly plying people with sales emails, you will lose more people than you retain. If this has been your approach so far you need to stop now
This method has been a tactic of internet marketers for so long, it's just not working anymore. People these days will just not put up with that kind of hard sell.
Think about the times when you subscribed to someones list. It was probably because they had a free offer that interested you, right?
Now when you gave them your email address you knew that would not be the last you heard from them. You know at some point down the line they are going to try and sell you one thing or another.
If they take the hard-sell approach and keep pestering you with sales emails chances are you will unsubscribe from their list.
However if they are sending you useful information. Or they are giving you free training or great advice, you are more inclined to read their sales emails when they inevitably do arrive.

Remember it cost a lot more time, effort and money to get a new subscriber than it does to keep your existing list happy and interested.
People will stay on your list if you are giving them great FREE content. The longer they are on your list the more chance you get to build their trust. The more they trust you the more likely they are to become a paying customer. They are more likely to recommend you if they think that what you are providing is useful and worthwhile.

These people on your list can be your greatest form of promotion...
You can tell people how great you are. You can tell them what a wonderful product you are selling. They may or may not believe you, they may or may not buy from you. But if someone totally unconnected to you gives you the thumbs up... that is such a powerful thing.

There is nothing greater for yourself or your brand than the endorsement of one of your customers.
It is for this reason that I say Love Your List.
If you put the time and effort and love into your existing customers then it will pay off in the long term. Not only will you have to spend less time replacing the customers you are losing. You are more likely to have a growing list who are willing to become paying customers.

When you are starting out, building an email list can seem like the hardest thing in the world. To get complete strangers to trust you enough to join your list can really take a heck of a lot of time and effort. So doesn't it make sense to ensure that all that work you have put in to get your subscribers should not go to waste?

In Conclusion
Remember! it is extremely important to keep growing your list, but it is equally important to look after your existing subscribers. After all you don't want the effort you are putting in to growing your list to end up being largely to replace the people you are losing.
Once you start to build your list, ensure you spend some time connecting with those people. Send them an email AT LEAST once a week. Make them feel wanted, valued and loved. Send them free content, help, advice and tips. Give them free training but ensure it is the full course that delivers on what you promise.
Don't give away 80% of something and then ask people to pay for the final 20%. This is a sure fire way to get people reaching for the unsubscribe button.
In short if you love your list, your list will love you.

One of the biggest mistakes most marketers do nowadays, is think email marketing is dead.
Many marketers today drop the email marketing scheme to go with social media. Come to think of it, social media look much more sexy than email.
But, is a social media post really as effective as an email?
Before we answer that question, lets state a well known fact.
It is easier to send a friend request on Facebook than to collect an email online. But believe me, email marketing is thrice as worth it as social media marketing.
So, what is email marketing?

Email marketing is the targeting of customers through emails. Every emails sent to a potential customers can be considered as email marketing. Email marketing involves sending a promotional email or an ad to a subscriber. Via his email address.
A great deal of organisations today use email marketing.
Even more bloggers do use email marketing today than ever before. For example, have you ever been browsing on a website, and you see some field where you are asked to submit your name and email to get a free eBook or update?
That is the front part of email marketing.
Most bloggers use email marketing because it enhances the customer experience. With a well targeted email list, you can reach established customers and prospective ones too. Any given subscriber will be informed better and more easily via email. The email will have a greater visibility than a Facebook post. The Facebook post will be drowned in a stream of content in the minutes following its posting.

Do You Really Need Email Marketing?
If you want to improve your customers' or readers' experience, then you need email marketing.
Forget about the glamour and the flashy of social media marketing.
We are talking efficiency here. We are talking greater engagement. Greater reach. Greater click through rate and more.
As many experienced marketers say, " the money is in the list".
Some even say "your net worth depends on your network".
In the following lines, I will explain the advantages of email marketing. In these explanations, I will use statistics. The sites which produced those stats will be mentioned at the end of this article. So, let's get into the advantages of using email marketing.:

Potential Reach:

Did you know that in 2013, there were about 3.2 billion email accounts created in the world? 95% of online consumers use an email address.
The most interesting fact is; 91% of those consumers check their email accounts at least once a day. Today, we browse more with our phones than our computers. As a result, we are more easily notified when we receive emails.
Our phones place the notifications right in front of our eyes.
Today, it is easier to check to an email than a Facebook or Twitter post.
This is because when we post content, so does a million other people.
As a result, finding one particular post you liked 3 weeks ago can be the most daunting task.

Actual Reach:
Before I explain this part in more detail, let's get some interesting numbers. In the first half of 2013, a research conducted using emails as a marketing channel revealed some staggering facts. The one that stands out the most is this; 18% of the emails sent during a campaign never reach their destinations. 4% of the sent emails are sent into the spam folder. That makes 22% of the sent emails that do not actually reach the intended receiver.
On the other hand, 78% of the emails sent during an email campaign actually reach their destination. Think of it this way, If you send 1000 emails, 780 emails will reach their destination. In addition to that, 91% of the receivers check their emails daily. This means, about 709 receivers will actually see your email. This is great efficiency, as less than 30% of the emails sent are lost.
Now, let's compare these numbers with those of a Facebook campaign carried out in the same way. This revealed that 74% of the Facebook posts are actually lost within the big stream of content. That is a problem. That means, per thousand Facebook posts, 740 are lost in the stream of content. That leaves us with 260 posts seen by our target readers. Another bad thing is, everyone who sees your content will not actually click through. Less than half will actually do. That leaves us with less than 130 people who are actually interested in our offers.

Click Through Rates:
In the previous point, we talked about what percentage of people who see and may like your posts and mails. Now let's talk about people who actually complete the actions and do what you want them to do. Let's say clicking on a link. This link may take them to a landing page or a website.

Click through rate is the percentage of people that receive your message and actually click on it.
The click through rate of a tweet is 0.5 percent as opposed to 3% for an email.
These numbers look small at first.
But, this means that people click 6 times more on an email link than on a tweeted link.
Let's keep on using our example of 1000 emails and 1000 social media posts.
A 0.5% click through rate means per thousand, 5 people will actually click on your link. This is for social media.
Sometimes the click through rates are higher, but those are particular cases. The numbers we use here are average ones.
A 3% click through rate with emails means 30 clicks per thousand. That is the best click through rate you will obtain on average.
The numbers are not astounding, but efficient numbers are not always astounding.
The difference is such because, when people give you their email addresses they actually want to hear more form you.

Your Readers Want It This Way:
Most people use social media to communicate with friends first.
Seldom are they used to receive business news and reviews.
There are specialized websites for that. 77% of the users during a survey online said they prefer to receive promotional messages in their emails.
4% said they prefer these messages on social media.
This speaks to the fact that by submitting an email, people are literally giving you a business meeting location.

Emails Are Private:
It is easier for a reader to express his problems in private than in the open.
Everybody is not comfortable when it comes to expressing their shortcomings in the open. When a user wishes to express his struggles and he can't meet with you, what does he do? He writes you an email. This way, he can tell you everything. You can answer specifically to him.
I will soon create a page where I post user requested content. Every weekend.
Email Marketing and newsletters
Conclusion:
You want to use emails if you want to boast your online presence. Also, this is for you if you want to enhance reader experience.
Setting up an email marketing campaign is not really expensive.
We are talking about 6$ to 20$. Per month. Some services like MailChimp even offer free services for your first 2000 subscribers.
Email marketing is not dead. If anything, it kills that silence between your subscribers and you. In an upcoming post, I will talk about building an email list. Thanks for reading. Talk to you guys soon.
